As of this moment, I am starting up the first WCP.

What is the World Creation Project?

It's more or less a writing exercise, except far more deep. Think of it as jotting down a description of a world of your own creation, but instead of a general overview, you get right down to the gritty details. Now that you've got all that, add other people into the mix. It has been in my experience that worlds and stories are far more interesting when done with a group of minds working in tandem.

Goals of the WCP

The long term goal of the WCP is to create a backdrop for which others can toy with at their leisure. Writing fanfiction and the like can be fun, and this project is meant to create something that can be used for such "spinoff" writings yet without as much plot-based restrictions. For everyone who has suffered writers block or has been unsure as to what to draw, this place is for you.

Guidelines

This is meant to be an actual world rather than a single place. So to add your input to the 1st WCP, do something along the lines of:

-Write a historical document for a fictional world
-Draw something to represent one or more aspects of the world
-Write a poem by/About aspects of the world
-Write a short story narrating an event in the world's history
-Create Digital artwork of a landscape in the world
-Write/Play music concerning the world

Anything that adds to the depth of the world is welcome, the above are just some examples

Name

This world has no name, and it won't until a specifically dedicated group of creators decide on one.

Restrictions

There aren't any, really. Write/draw/create anything in any style, time period, or whatever.

All I ask is that you refrain from having your submission restrict other submissions too much, or that your addition to the world say something about it being made of Jello. In other words do what you want, but leave room for others to contribute as well.

Signing Up

Participating is easy. Respond to this journal with a willing message to take part, and then post your submission for the world within a reasonable time frame. This is an open project.
